We have Mike Soroka vs. Nathan Eovaldi in this one. Two pretty good arms! Both guys sport roughly a 3.05 SIERA in the latest figures, and neither guy racks up huge strikeout numbers (around the mid-20s in K%), but both can induce outs in different ways.
This park factor is important to know. Something changed in Texas before the 2025 season, I’m convinced of it. The Rangers’ lineup isn’t as strong as it was back then, and that impacts the matchup. But zooming in on balls in play, there’s an odd trend in Texas for the last five seasons: home run per barrel rates and slugging on balls hit in the air have shifted. 2021: HR/barrel 57.5% / SLG .836; 2022: 49.7% / .856; 2023: 56.2% / .922; 2024: 49.8% / .748; 2025: 36.7% / .697; 2026: 35.1% / .665. It’s unusual to see batted balls die like this, and it has helped the Rangers’ pitching. It could also help Soroka in this one.

My money is on the Rangers side. Soroka’s weakness is left-handed power, which is negated a bit by the park, but the Rangers will roll out five left-handed bats tonight, and they still have Corey Seager in the lineup who can do a lot of damage.
I’d be pretty interested in the Under 0.5 home runs in the game line, but I can’t find one right now. I think that could come out later and should be serious plus money, though. And maybe Seager, Evan Carter, or someone else will spoil that. So let’s take a bit of juice on the under and back a Rangers win.
